(prcenter.de) Tönning, 20 February 2007 - the inhabitants of the north German Halligen demand the measures planned by European union and Federal Government to the CO2-Reduzierung to convert briskly. Since October 2004 the five inhabited Halligen Langeness, Oland, Hooge, Nordstrandischmoor and Gröde belong to „the biosphere reservation Schleswig Holsteini Wattenmeer and Halligen “, briefly: „Biosphere Halligen “. Thus they are part of a world-wide network of UNESCO Modellregionen, in which living together humans and nature is exemplarily developed and tested. To the goals belong the protection of nature, a lasting environmentalfair land use, the promotion of the social development as well as education, research and environmental monitoring. In the biosphere Halligen are carried out different projects for the conversion of a lasting regional development, e.g. new tourism concepts and the promotion of the regional identity by school projects.
